College Football Week 5 2022 – Top 5 Games

7-Kentucky Wildcats at 14-Ole Miss Rebels – 12:00 pm ET – ESPN

ATS odds: Ole Miss -6.5

Kentucky is one of the biggest surprises this season. The key will be Kentucky’s defense versus Ole Miss’s high-scoring offense.

The Rebels average 41 points per game. Ole Miss ranks fourth in rushing yards each contest. Kentucky’s defense allows 13 points per.

The Wildcats have a signature victory versus Florida. Mississippi has yet to play a team on Kentucky’s level.

Agent Suggestion: So far, action is flowing to the Wildcats. Big Blue may pose a risk in your book. If so, use the layoff account.

2-Alabama Crimson Tide at 20-Arkansas Razorback – 3:30 pm ET – CBS

ATS odds: Alabama -17.5

They almost lost the last time Alabama played a team as good as Arkansas. Texas pushed Bama in a 21-20 Crimson Tide win.

The Razorbacks are as good of a team as the Longhorns. But Alabama has become a much better squad than the one that faced Texas in the second week.

Alabama’s defense holds opponents to less than 63 rushing yards per game. If Arkansas QB KJ Jefferson can’t find running room, the Tide should dominate on the scoreboard because the Hogs’ defense is a mess.

Agent Suggestion: The line has moved from Alabama -16.5 to Crimson Tide -17.5. Bama quarterback Bryce Young should have no trouble picking apart a bad Razorbacks’’ secondary while the Hogs may not score more than 10. Set up your sportsbook with the anticipation that the Tide rolls.

9-Oklahoma State Cowboys at 16-Baylor Bears – 3:30 pm ET – FOX

ATS odds: Baylor -1.5

Based on the spread, Oklahoma State versus Baylor should be one of College Football Week 5’s most competitive games. The Bears head back home after upsetting Iowa State on the road.

So far, these teams have proven they can contend for the Big 12 title. Oklahoma State is averaging 51.7 points each game.

But the Pokes have yet to play a legit team. Baylor lost to BYU, but the loss happened in overtime. The win over the Cyclones is the top victory from either team heading into this.

Agent Suggestion: The spread on home team Baylor seems short. But Oklahoma State will have their fans. Wait to see where the action in this game lands before using BossAction features or tools to manage the action.

17-Texas A&M Aggies at Mississippi State Bulldogs – 4:00 pm ET – SEC Net

ATS odds: Mississippi State -3.5

Texas A&M scored 23 points and beat Arkansas last week. The points scored came against the Hogs’ horrible defense.

Mississippi State lost to LSU in their third game. But the Bulldogs have rolled through their opponents outside of falling to the Tigers in Baton Rouge. Texas A&M will struggle to score versus an underrated Miss State defense.

Agent Suggestion: By about 6%, college gridiron handicappers are backing Mississippi State over A&M. The home team in these types of college games almost always has the edge. Make sure to set max limits on the Aggies money line. Use your other tools depending on where the money lands.

10-NC State Wolfpack at 5-Clemson Tigers – 7:30 pm ET – ABC

ATS odds: Clemson -6.5

Clemson’s 51-45 home win against Wake Forest in College Football Week 4 was as impressive as it gets. The Tigers didn’t stop trying.

NC State had a scare against East Carolina in week 1. Since then, the Wolfpack has dominated. How much did the win over the Demon Deacons take out of the Tigers?

If the answer is a lot, the Wolfpack can win straight up. If the answer is nothing, Clemson can cover.

Agent Suggestion: Set max limits on the Wolfpack money line. On paper, NC State is as good as Clemson. Not only that, but the Tigers’ defense struggled against Wake. Don’t think for a minute Wolfpack coaches haven’t poured over how Wake could drop 45 against Clemson in Death Valley.
